The members area preview has been done...it was a great tool for Newyorkwhores.com....you could use it as a full page ad also.
Also I think one of the Iteens tours is a full members area preview....but either way, it's still a very good tool and it should help with retention since they know exactly what they're getting ahead of time.
The welcome message is a neat idea
