    Do recipes carry a copyright?

    if its for something generic like "hamburgers" or "gyros"?

    coz i just got these recipes that im dying to put up (and milk adsense from)

      I think most recipes are more than just a listing of ingredients. And how would the cooking instructions be any different from say a book?

      However, generic food like hamburgers or gyros usually don't require a page long descriptive story on how to prepare it. I'd think it's hard to put a copyright on something like a generic hamburger recipe.

          I think only of the name of the dish is trademarked or the recipes appeared in published print (like a Julia Childs book).

                      i believe so. i remember once seeing a saved by the bell episode where they stole a spaghetti sauce recipe and got slapped with a big lawsuit.
