Hey 2HP I was just reading your interview thread (excellent BTW) and was surprised to read you´ve been to Venezuela...which is where I´m writing this from!

I'll be playing it by ear with each person, assessing strengths, if they can write a line of code, etc -- it will depend what each brings to the table and the level of energy they put into it -- it should be fun --

The point I'm trying to make is this -- as an industry, we need to build goodwill and "bridges" of all sorts. Whether we like it or not, there are people outside our "little circle" looking in with interest and curiosity at what we do and how we do it. There are also people looking in with rather less friendly designs on us. I'm hoping to show that we're organized enough in what we do to convey those things to someone who's coming in at close to zero. I'd like to show that the dark-expertise and "secrets" I know some folks like to pretend aren't learned but are called upon during satanic-SEO masses in the middle night, really aren't and actually can be. I guess maybe I'd like to turn out a few people who, even if they never end up working in Adult, might have good things to say -- maybe years down the road, if somebody asked them what they think about what we do. My point is to do a little demystification --

Cynicism, when it is motivated by a desire for truth is a healthy, essential thing. But before I scan my 1040 from 2004 and paste it here, I want remind every one that the scale of this "project" has far eclipsed anything I could have had in mind this morning.

The truth is, this IS a place where opportunism and meanness too often rear their heads. The noobs who seldom post and who, for the most part, don't dare to enter into threads filled with "people" they don't know, whose aims are (even to me, still) indecipherable -- I THINK robs this -- amazing, one of a kind in the history of everything EVER -- place of a value it contains. When I first appeared on GFY, I did what many of you still do, I watched and paid attention, and when I had worked up the courage -- I BECAME 2HousePlague here.

For a long time, I have lamented what seemed a wasteful use of such an incredible resource, but have accepted that GFY, like any "society", is made rich by the diversity of its voices -- it turns out now that I have received (that GFY has received) the opportunity to do something that has not been done before. Again, I did not premeditate this, I swear -- but here it is, and we MUST (all of us) see where it can go.

A few clarifications, I'm not a millionaire -- but I am working on it every day and night. Anyone interested in the particulars of my business, is free to ask, here or anywher else. I would rather have those discussions other than on this thread, only because it could be interpreted as a taint of self-promotion on something that I'd like to keep free of that -- at least my own self-promotion.

There is no single "project" I am recruiting anyone for -- I should make it clear that I am NOT hiring -- LOL. However, I feel generosity and gratitude to GFY, without which none of us would be here -- certainly not me.

What I would love to see happen is that this thread becomes a place where a commitment has been made by all who enter here to bring their best -- in the form of both questions and answers. I think it's a tragedy that the best ideas for being single-threaders fall away into the oblivion at the bottom of this page. Here, for the first time I can remember we have a chance to build something of value and to have it all reside conveniently, bookmarkably in ONE PLACE.

My role in this is an accident, but my commitment (if you will share it with me) is sincere and passionate. If you'd like to see who the man is on the soapbox take advantage of the Search tool, while it works -- I have been often absurd and irreverent, and silly -- this is also a place of Play -- but, very consistently in all my "serious threads" I have been a champion of openness and sharing -- something I think we have a problem with as an industry.

Come to this thread to meet people you don't know, to listen to me and ANYONE else who wishes to say something -- all I would say to those who come to post is "bring your best" -- let's make this something to be proud of. Our business achievements in this industry are staggering. Here is an opportunity for Adult to take pride in itself a bit -- how better to do that than in the sprit of self-less sharing, in an educational context?

What I think is dusturbing some people who don't know me, and who have (just as I asked) brought thoughtful questions to the dialogue is the fact that this sort of thing is ALWAYS a scam of some sort. They are right to wonder and ask. This does look too good to be true. But, today, of all days, when for the very first time in a long-time, there is good news and optimism in the air -- TODAY -- let us leave some of the past behind, and come again to our home GFY, as if for the first time.

I promise to all of you, and to Lensman, to do here in this thread what is has for SO LONG been my desire to do somewhere in some way for our amazing BIZ, put it in an impeccable light.
