During World War II all the warring nations employed propaganda, often called psychological warfare, to boost civilian and military morale as well as to demoralize the enemy. The U.S. agency charged with disseminating wartime propaganda was the Office of War Information. In the postwar era propaganda activities continue to play a major role in world affairs. The United States Information Agency (USIA) was established in 1953 to facilitate the international dissemination of information about the United States. Radio Moscow, Radio Havana, and The Voice of America are just three of the large radio stations that provide information and propaganda throughout the world. In addition, certain refinements of the propaganda technique have developed, most notably brainwashing, the intensive indoctrination of political opponents against their will.

How can anyone predict, rely on or "trust" the actions of a loose association of hundreds of thousands of people they've never met, working in hundreds of different government agencies (many of which have conflicting agendas) -- ?

Trust is something you give people you can look in the face, call on the phone and yell at -- and who have otherwise (in a thousand different ways) shown you that they deserve your trust -- --

Lee -- what I'm prepared to trust in is that the prudent folks at the FSC (and counsel) have made their agreement with individual government employees whom THEY have looked in the eye --


IDEA: Governments, like large companies, often use PR and branding to associate themselves with High Ideas or Abstract Concepts -- they do this to convey a certain feeling to their customers (or constituents) or to characterize their operations in a certain light.

Rather than ask the question can we trust the agreement -- ? -- if what you're concerned for is its basic plausibility, in light of the respective agendas and interests of the parties involved -- I would ask, instead:

Do you believe its possible that the two sides could meet privately and find a MECHANICS OF COMPROMISE that would:

1. Resolve the impasse,

2. Allow each representative to return to his or her constituents with "good news", and

3. Not publicly violate the attributes of each brand -- ?

I say, sure.

No I don't have any faith or trust in the current dutch (and american) government.

I sincerely believe there will be another "revolution" type uprising. Supreme court saying just allowing cities, states and fed government to seize personal prop under "eminent domain" so other business can flourish so they can pay more taxes. 2257. The Gross Failure of the government to stop the flood of illegal imigrants into this country.
