    Watermarking and shrinking MPEG files?

Okay, I admittedly am a newb at video editing or manipulation of any kind, so heres my question for those who are...well..not newbs.

What program do you prefer for compressing and watermarking MPEG files?

Heres what I have and what I need, I have 14 clips, each clip is from 30 seconds to 2 minutes long, each clip is from 40-70 meg mpeg file from a DVD cam, I need to be able to compress them down to a smaller more download friendly size, and add a URL watermark to them. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
