Is anyone going to comply with the new 2257 law?

I have recieved 30 emails from various sponsors explaining why they are exempt from the new law... Not one is ready to change anything. It worries me a bit. (not for me, I'm exempt) lol just kidding.

It's a bullshit law and everyone knows it. They will have to re-write it from scratch or just scrap the amendment.

It may be bullshit, but it has been passed and will become law in a few hours... The "I don't agree with it" excuse doesn't usually hold much water in court.

I have been working so fucking hard for like a month to comply. Now it seems like I have some breathing room.

Does anyone know how it would affect sites where users submit personal photos... Like on a message board. Would this fall under the "carrier" status?

Its not a law and it hasn't been "passed". Its a merely a regulation. There's a subtle but significant difference.

so i am really asking what foreign sponsors are doing with foreign models. teh Us has no rights there. and also not when it is not even hosted in america.Only the us can think of something this lame. they earn quite some money on porn but they always try to shut it down. They better use their brains how to pay back their huge debt and how to help the poor people, because as far as know more then the half of america is really poor. what a fucked up goverment they got there.

just had to tell this out. Beside that i like the states in many ways. ;)

Well this "regulation" can MERELY get you 5 yerars of anal rape. And I hate to break it to you but 2257 is a LAW not a regualtion.

Would it not be easier for the models to have their address reigistered at an Attorneys office and use that address, or if the model becomes an LLC and uses the address of her LLC,

Yes, 2257 is a law and it went into affect several years ago. The fact that the original poster mentioned "new" and "in a few hours" either means the original poster is caught in some bizarre time warp, or he was talking about the REGULATIONS and not the law. Again, there's a suble but significant difference.

Most programs that say they are complying are in fact not. They keep telling affiliates things like, rip down your hardcore from us, we'll put the documents on our server, etc. Have fun when the shitstorm hits, just pray it's high winds and not a hurricane.

Technicality... call it what ya will. We will be having jail sentences based not on just "rules" next, but some casual conversation in a bar.

The "law" has now been amended and it is 100 times less sensible than that originally introduced and does nothing for CP or child protection. Basically an utter waste of time.

It's how much sponsors defrauded today from some poor bastard in Haiti :-)

Yes, I took my business to Canada.

I imagine millions of dollars for the UK, as well.
