I had to go a month or two back and sat in the court room for almost 6 hours.

The court fees were more than the actual fine as well.

    Spend you some brain.

$200 to my attorney and I was in and out in 4 minutes flat. Ticket thrown out (speeding). No fine, no court fees.

Saved me 4+ hours of waiting, Fees and Fines in around the same amount and points on my license (or traffic school).

Your best bet with shit like this is to hire a good attorney. Your cases always get called first (if they are any good), you normally get a lecture instead of a fine, and should there be some monitary slap on the wrist, it's like a measily $100 versus the normal whatever the statute says.

Oh,.. and you stay out of jail..

Doesn't work that way in NYS.

I waited the almost 6 hours and got a pretty hefty speeding violation knocked down to a seatbelt violation.

The fine was $25 and the court fee was $55.

Town cops, town court...what a fucking racket they've got going there.

Didn't have the choice of traffic school.. was a expired license.. Took 4 damn hours and cost $205 court fees plus the original speeding ticket which was about $180..
