When I looked over the CS act it said any forms of collecting emails from the web, as well as buying lists was illegal. I'm assuming all of these compliant mailers are for opt in lists only?
What's with all the programs using "Can Spam Compliant" mailers?

Well no shit. I'm just trying to figure out why they want to sugar coat it as compliant anything. It's illegal under the new act to accept traffic from anyone spamming whether you know it or not so what difference does it make what you call the damn mailer?Originally posted by mal

Its for those with real opt in lists only, that is our intention. We will still terminate anyone who sends bulk e-mail a.k.a spam. This is clearly defined in our TOS.Originally posted by stocktrader23

Picture 1000 hunters hiding in the bush.
1000 deer can be seen in the distance, but are out of range.
A couple deer come close and start feeding in your trap.
Are you going to shoot those two deer? ... Or wait for the other deer to see that it's safe and start feeding as well.
If you think there are going to be a ton of 2257 prosecutions with the aim of trying to shut down major parts of this industry, why wouldn't you think they are planning to use CAN-SPAM eventually as well?Last edited by goBigtime; 08-04-2004, 06:59 PM.Comment
