I have always been super skittish over the swing ride, I ride everything else though.

Once when I was around 8, my uncle, dad and I were in a ride at a "parking lot fair", one of those ferris wheel type rides with the swinging cages. A minute into the ride the door popped open. I was in the middle, so they held on to me while yelling at those on the ground running the ride. For some reason the brake wouldn't work either so they shut the power and let the ride stop on it's own. Then they had a bunch of guys physically pull each cage down to let the riders off. Had this happened as an adult I probably would have never gotten on another ride ever

I did tell my sister this past year after we got beat up in an old Zipper ride that I may be approaching too old for that ride

coolest ride to go on when i was younger at the fairs and such was the Gravitron. you'd go inside and it would just spin really fast and the g forces made you stick to the wall and you could climb around side ways and shit.

brings to mind the Simpsom episode where Lisa and Bart are spitting at each other and Milhouse stuck in between them in such a ride
