He's not the only one doing it...I remember watching some news magazine show that did a study on this "phenomena."
When there is someone waiting for the parking spot people take longer to get in their car, get adjusted , starting it and driving away when no one is waiting for their space...we are some seriously fucked in the head animals who are so protective of what little "territory" we can find.
