    My doctor

    ...notified me today that he is moving himself and his family to New Zealand because he believes he has been under surveillance and is also fed up with the government in general. He has been offered a position there. He is caucasian and is in his late twenties or early thirties and to the best of my knowledge he is not overly politically active. I was surprised.

    What can anyone tell me about New Zealand. Standard of living...approximate salary for a doctor...socialized medicine or not...relative freedoms...etc.

                      I am satisfied that he is not paranoid and he is not schizophrenic. He has been somewhat politically active...though in my opinion not overly so...and has certain reasons to believe that he has been placed under surveillance.

                              I know that Asspimple is stoopid ... As he says, it is a FACT !

                                      As it turns out it is not the good doctor himself that is being surveilled...but his wife is. She is from a muslim country and has been contacting family and friends via phone and email. Apparently the email and phone surveillance by the government is at work overtime.

                                      The good doctor does not like this so to protect his wife he is leaving the country with her and children.

                                          Some additional information is...she is from Pakistan and the good doctor met her when he was attending medical school. She was attending college at the time as an exchange student and eventually became a nurse. In addition to making phone calls and sending emails she periodically sends money to help support her poverty stricken family members in Pakistan.

                                          All of these communications...alone...with a muslim country may have been enough to get the attention of the government but who knows it could also be possible that one of her family members is on the Pakistani watch list for known/possible terrorists.

                                          Makes me wonder how many Americans muslims...as well as non muslim...that are in contact with a muslim country...are being surveilled by the government. One hundred percent of them?

                                              Raises the question...since New Zealand is a pretty staunch ally of the United States...will our government notify the powers that be in New Zealand and will they then also put her on a watch list/surveillance?

                                                      Im from new zealand its a nice place but its sorta cold if you live down south

                                                      you want to live in some where north if you want to keep warm in the winter :D
