Is it possible to have Satan (or the like) but not a GOD ?

think about it for a second before replying.

We see evil every single say. killings, robberies, lies, etc. Some people do evil stuff but they dont know why ...

When is the last time you saw an act of GOD? A true miracle?

imagine seeing the plane hit the trade center, then when it was falling all of a sudden the building stopps dead in its tracks? or maybe hit the ground lightly and nobody was hurt?

imagine watching 2 cars head directly towards each other, but then they instantly stop in a such a way that you know it could not have been the brakes of the cars?

imagine seeing something like that? That would be true evidence of a higher power with good intentions.

It just does not happen.

Instead we are brainwashed by the cults, err i mean the church that there is a god, and that he is with us at all times ... we see images in clouds and goofy stuf like that.

If there is a good guy so must there be a bad guy type shit, so maybe all the god and devil talk may be just for the bible but i am a christian so yes i believe that there is a god and so there must be a devil and that is because the bible says its so.

i strongly beleive that the church is nothing more than a glorified cult.

the object of the church members (at all levels) is to get new members. Just like a cult!

it is important to worship the leader. Just like a cult!

it is important to prey to your god in his "house". Just like a cult!

I also recognise that it is this catholic cult that keeps much evil off of the streets, and also that if it is infact a cult that atleast its purpose is for the better of society and so on, but shit is still a cult! lol

how they got so many people to beleive, or to buy into their "ways" and "beleifs" is beyond me.

dont get me wrong, i beleive to a point.

i dont practice in any way, shape or form but there are times i find myself preying.

for example when my grandfather died i convinced myself that he went to heaven. i also said many preyers on his behalf.

but i would never ever flock to a building to hear someone preach the book to me, and how i should think and act, etc.

i would never try and sell my friends on a religion.

i think the entire concept of the church is nonsense.

I know Darwin detests the idea's and principles of evolution, but i strongly beleive that evolution is true based on scientific fact.

I also dont beleive the idea that GOD created this world of ours. I beleive that it began from a spec and it grew ... evolution once again based on scientific fact.

As much as I believe its all bullshit I also think religion is a good thing. It keeps many crazy ass people from doing some stupid ass shit. The flip side is that it also makes some crazy ass people do some stupid ass shit, but still its good that its here. Some people just can't funcution without it.

When my brother died a few years ago I don't think my mom could have went on in life at that moment if she hadn't hung on to her faith. So for some its much needed.

agreed that there will never be a definate answer, not in our lifetime anyhow.

but it is scientifically beleivable that we started from tiny specs of something that merged into something else which kept merging and finally formed a planet which eventually developped a solar system to prevent furthur merging ...

now within this solar system and on this planet it all begins again, specs of something merged to form something else that merged and eventually became a living creature

repeat that process a few times and you have different types of creatures.

run these several types of creatures through the test of time and you now have a more evolved version of the creature, hense the human.

science has a serious challenge trying to solve the very begining, but i definately beleive that it did infact begin with science and not some higher power.

just my 2 cents which is worth practically nothing in the world of science, i know that ... but getting back to the topic, i dont see the proof of this higher power

science is currently very much limited to the current technology, as well as the mental capacity of todays scientists.

but rest assured that there either is something beyond space, or there is not, either way it will be proven some day.

This is a board for adult webmasters to network and learn the business. I realize that a lot of other stuff goes on in here too, but what is with all the religion bashing posts lately? I personally have a lot of problems with organized religion myself. But I believe whether organized religion is evil and whether or not God exists are two completely different questions.

WRT your question about miracles, they happen all the time. Many people have seen real miracles happen in their lives. If one has happened in your life, you would believe. If not, you will have doubts. There are lots of unexplained phenomena that science simply cannot explain and which seem to violate the laws of nature.

If there is no creator, what explains life and the universe? Either there was an intelligent cause or it all came about by pure blind chance. Do you really think the explanation for everything we see in nature is that it just happened all by itself for no reason out of absolute nothingness? If you can offer a better explanation, I'm all ears.
