Like wearing a suit of armor.
Why would they call it "football" when they throw the ball 95% of the time?
Have you by chance ever seen a rugby game? That makes American football look like a real pansy sport.
if those rugby players were so good why wouldn't the play pro football and make millions instead of playing for a six pack of fucking beer, and by the way the also run the ball...

Because some people still play for the love of the game... That and I think the lack of padding has caused some of those rugby guys to lose quite a few brain cells.
I played Soccer, Football (TE and Cornerback), and Baseball (Catcher and Center Field) in high school. Still play Soccer and Softball today. Picked up Ice hockey when I was twenty talk about another game that you have to play to really undrstand and get into it. Soccer and Hockey are both on the same level as far as they are slowly coming around in the States. I personally can watch just about any sport and enjoy it. Bowling and Pool don't really get me all that excited, but hey you can't please all the people all the time.
Thumblina, let your kid play both. Soccer skills can be used in hockey and the balance and toughness he will learn in Hockey will help him emencely in soccer. Many of the great hockey players out there also played soccer as a kid.
