These cases are going to become much more prevalent on both the celebrity status, as well as the common / anonymous status.
It could be that men just do this and the reports are very limited due to sociological fears and now women are growing the moxie to report it, but somehow I doubt it.
I hate to be the one to say it, but I really believe there are a lot of crazy girls out there looking to cause problems for guys. Kobe may have committed his crime, but somehow I doubt it. This case certainly has more merit in my opinion, but we will have to wait and see.
I am not a celebrity by any stretch, but that said:
-I have had girls tell me they were pregnant with my child and were not pregnant at all.
-Told me that I gave them an STD and they wanted money, went to the doctor, nothing.
-Had a girl pull up all my information from the Internet. That got so bad I had to have the number blocked, she changed hers so it could still get through. She hates me, and wants me dead. All this derived from a one night stand.
I tend to empathize with these guys, maybe more than I should, but one should always be aware of how easily the scenario could be cast upon you (guys). These girls have a lot more rights then guys do when it comes to these accusations.
I see lots of guys posting in a rather high-handed manner these days, it just makes me wonder sometimes. Good for you if you live the perfect white-picket fence life, but not everyone does. Cheating on your wife, albeit morally despicable, is an inter-personal affair that we have little right to judge. Most of these cases inevitably end up "he said, she said," which seperates them from most cases.
I don't think a lot of guys realize how scary this scenario can be.
