For those of you coming down to SD for cybernet expo there are a few nice locations in SD to party/drink and have some fun..
I have lived downtown san diego for almost a year now and I recommend this quick cab ride from the cybernet hotel .. I think its about $20 ish..
downtown is about 5x6 block radius of bars, clubs, food, some shops.. and its all in stumbling distance from each other.
A couple new cool bars have opened up and my personal fav right now is the
JBar which is on 6th and J.. its on the top of the hotel Solona (sp) on the 4th floor.. but its a total open space, with pool, cabanas, fire pits and more.. plus a view of PetCo Park.. Some baseball thignie
Also downtown there are alot of good happy hour specials..

my fav right now is Cafe Seville.. (helps to live next to it)
50% Happy Hours at Café Sevilla Half-off all drinks & Tapas in the Tapas Bar every weeknight until 6:30pm
the night life is pretty hopping here so if u dont feel like sitting in the hotel bar deff make it here sat night if your in town early.. be warned here in SD they are ID Nazi's so dont forget it or your not gonna go in..

if your into the college, beach, surfer scene head to Pacific Beach, there are alot of bars, and food places plus usually lots of eye candy.. and you can also drink on the beach (no glass tho) and dont lean on the wall that separates the beach from the walk way.. for some odd reason you can get a ticket..
there are alot of cool places to deff check out.. but im just giving a few here..
