i think for designers, such as yourself, it is a must-have. but for me, i can (and do) live without ICQ.
All the sponsors have a yahoo messenger screen name so i just message them with that, and i have a TON of webmasters on my yahoo messenger as well. Takes up a hella lot less RAM than icq/trillian did, and the last time i had a problem with it was last year (and that was my own fault). And if im not at home, i just sign on my cell phones yahoo messenger so i can be contacted 24/7.
I love not having ICQ and I will never go back to using that AOL owned piece of shit ever again.
