    Are you afraid of the dentist?

    Are you afraid of the dentist as I am?

                      I am so phobic about dentists.

                      Any dentist I call has to be able to give me nitrous oxide, even for a teeth cleaning. I can handle x-rays, but little else.

                      Nitrous makes it bearable.

                                  Not so much afraid, I just hate it.. the sounds and direct relations to pain is probably what sucks about it, but if theres something wrong always best to go see the dentist.

                                                                                      i had the same feeling especially if you haven't visit them in years. you know how terrifying their instruments are. however, everything is changed now, they often use a newer method not to inflict pain everytime they touch your teeth. I got my braces for more than i year now and Im required to visit them every month. but before getting those metal brackets, my last visit to a dentist was more than 7 years.

                                                                                      a good dentist let's you know what procedures he/she will undergo for you.

                                                                                                                                      I once went to a dentist for fillings. She gave me the injection in my gums, but she didn't give the time for the cocaine to work. She started drilling as soon as she injected me.
                                                                                                                                      It hurt a bit. Maybe she was in a hurry.

First thing she does is make sure I don't have to wait...she knows the waiting room can increase the anxiety. Then the second she puts me in the chair she puts on the laughing gas and cranks it up high.

                                                                                                                                                          I'm fine after that. Now if only I could learn to sleep the night before I have an app't.
