This is the correct answer.
Back in the mid-80's I worked for a brief time in the ambulance bay at the hospital, and one day the morgue van brought in a dead rotting corpse that had been found out in a field in the springtime. They figured the person had been dead for about 3 months, and the corpse was brought in in two green garbage bags.
I asked one of the morgue attendants what the other smaller bag was for..... he said "This is the guy's head"
People trust ME on this one...... the smell of that dead rotting human body IS the worst smell you will ever smell in your life, period. The entire emergency room area had to be aired-out for days to get rid of that stench it was so bad.
Hope to hell you never have to smell that smell. When someone on TV talks about the "stink of death", they are referring to that stink.
