i heard that the way that the law is written, the 2257 compliance goes with the image. So even if you take out only the head, that the technical interpretation was that you would still have to have the docs (same goes with banners).

Now this gets into the "thought police", because what if you only had that headshot(ie someone provided it to you), and not the original, who knows what insertion is going on, all you can see is the headshot.

So its a gray area, like much of 2257.. and comes down to your comfort level of 2257 compliance. (insert the consult an attorney verbage here)
