Love them both, but Nas haa to be is the winner. Few can challenge him lyrically.
And Illmatic is one of the top rap albums ever. Besides Eric B and Rakim's Paid in Full which I would say are tied for my favorite albums ever. And you will find most people rank them in the top 5 ever. That alone gives Nas it over Eminem in my opinion.

Nas is monotone and boring as fuck, always has been. Eminem was tight back in the slim shady days, now he's just annoying as hell...

While Nas' Illmatic is a better all around album than any Eminem album (because it's one of the few rap albums that is good all the way thru), I think Eminem's a better lyricist (on his older stuff, when he was hungry and busting out). It's just pesonal taste and subjective. Em's voice can hurt my ears though as it's a tad nasaly like somebody else said.Comment
