Greetings, heya, etc,
I'm been lurking here off an on for a month or so, (and other varied and various adult webmaster boards). I'm offering my professional services, not as a content provider, not a web designer(though i've some skills in that area), but as a UNIX/Windows/networking admin. Why? Because you people need to worry about sales and content etc, I only need to worry about making sure the webserver (and
all the little bits that go with it(php, mysql, frontpage, gd, etc, etc, etc) are online and serving pages. Why use me instead of
your current hosting company's techs? Because some of them flat out won't do the work that I do. I also secure web servers(any servers actually), will monitor for a small monthly recurring, etc.
I do upgrades and initial configs for apache, php, mysql, gd, etc. Also server hardening, ssh installs and upgrades, general system work, log rotation scripts, the list goes on and on
Why me? Because its my job. I've been doing web work and professional UNIX admin for almost 9 years, I've worked for some rather large companies(qualcomm, disney, uswest), and admined machines for the likes of people like GMAC, chase manhatten, efront media(lol), etc.
