Splitting wmv files

Hello Guys,

I am looking for a program to split wmv files automatically (set number of clips to split into) that does not encode the output file and that doesn?t create split files with a black screen of 3-5 seconds on the start. I tried ?Easy Video Splitter? and ?AVI and Mpeg Splitter?.

Any suggestions?

Only thing I use as well... Great progam and I use snatchit for the thumbnails.

To get perfect split up wmvs you HAVE to reencode them or you will ALWAYS lose a few seconds between the splits.

You will need to re-encode the source files if you have them (i.e. high res vob files or whatever), into constant-bitrate WMVs instead of the variable-bitrate WMVs that you probably have at the moment. The black seconds from start are due to the VBR encoding I think

Splitting CBR WMV works well. Not so with VBR WMV

About as user friendly as it gets. The new version has a wizard feature that will basically walk you through setting up the various functions.

Best $30 I spent. I upgraded recently to the PRO version and can't think of a single negative thing to say about the program.

I just did, what sucks that I have the double work with it:
encode + split to get the smalle movie files
+
just encode to get the full movie files

and also it can't split in equal pieces, must be size or length

or did I miss a way to split wmv without encoding?

I just downloaded the latest version of AVI/MPEG/ASF/WMV Splitter and reinstalled windows runtime 9 and got it working fine! The previous version didn't work.
