    I met Rupert ;))))

    I use to work for the Dead back in 98, its been a long time since I went and caught up with them all again.

    Decided to go catch them yesterday since they came pretty close to me, and before the show, I got to meet and chill out with Rupert out in the lot.

    He is awesome in person, I gave him some websites to check out, hope to see him around the boards =)

              Seems that milion bucks hasnt changed him at all... Same hair and style of dress Ive heard from someone who met him in NYC after the finale he really IS a nice guy

                      LOL, nope that never came up. Did get a few to sit and chat with him a bit though, he is really a nice guy. Its funny, he said that a few years ago, people would cross the street to avoid quote "guys like us", now they form a line just to shake his hand lol. I had to tell him my story, a few weeks ago at a local pool, I had about 4 six year olds come up to me and tell me that they loved Rupert... lol... kids...

                                                                                          Man, it was just an awesome show! Liberty, Cumberland Blues, Lucy in the Sky...and the Drums section was unbelievable!

                                                                                          I had pavilion tickets, but I chilled in the lawn the whole time with friends. I don't have any pics from inside the venue, but I took a lot while we were camping, etc. Let me know when you get your pics online. I'll have mine up on http://www.kindtimes.com soon!

                                                                                              He spent IT ALL already...........bought his mom a house, a house for him and his wife, set up a charity foundation with a large endowment from his million, and set the rest aside for college for his kid. Its all gone and he's still a happy guy.

                                                                                                      My wife (normally a total cynical misanthrope, which is why I married her of course!) thought Rupert was so cool she wrote to him congratulating him on his million. She hasn't hand-written a letter in a decade or more, and never wrote a 'celebrity' before in her life.

                                                                                                      And damned if he didn't write back, responding to the details of her letter and enclosing a picture!

                                                                                                      Recently I commented on another thread about how some people couldn't get class beat into them with a stick, no matter how rich they got... Rupert is a perfect example of how you can be a class act with or without money.

                                                                                                      I couldn't think of a more deserving guy to get that coin.

Dedicated husband and father. He deserved to win that million dollars more than anyone on that show, I think everyone I know voted for him, hes just your average everyday good guy.
