Can someone repay a debt to society? An open discussion.

I was just reading the morning news from Yahoo, and there is an article about that runaway bride bitch. When I see her, I just want to throw eggs at her. I want to drive by her house and yell all kinds of nasty obscene things. I want to humiliate her. But... I don't know why.

I don't know her. I only know what I read in 'the papers' or see on TV. And so far she has pleaded 'no contest' to all her charges. She's already agreed to pay like 13K to the city and was ordered to pay 2K more and was sentenced to 120 hours community service and 2 years probabtion, and has apologized many times. Even after all that... I still want to throw eggs at her.

Why is it that only a few people can go to jail, have a moment of clarity and get their lives together? When they come out we say, "Well... that person has repaid their debt to society..." and we're fine with that. But then, someone like this chick comes along and no matter what I just can't stand her. Yet, I'm compelled to read her stupid yahoo news articles.

I believe we forgive, but I think it's hard for us to forget.

Rehabilitation is achieved only by a few people that ever leave the prison system. Most are repeat offenders. They are career criminals and therefore never repay a debt to society. And it's been reported by MANY criminal psychologists that sexual predators are never cured.

Is it possible for a person that fucked up to be rehabilitated, repay their debt and have the past forgotten?
