.com will always rule, but I would think the value of a .us is in the eyes of the customers. There's a lot of uninformed people that might see .us sites as being strictly US sites and assume they are more trustworthy. Trust from your customers is a very nice thing to have coming out the gate.

Plus, there's still tons of one-word .us domains left. I picked up messy.us and catfights.us (along with a few others). I'm sure they won't make me rich, but certainly worth risking the $11.98 I spent on those two.

thats what I figured... risk a few bucks and see if it is worth anything later... .us might become very popular in a couple of years ya never know. I registered masterbate.us and sexworkers.us

Not for type-in traffic. But you can always use them for a site, gaysex.us is easier to remember than freegaysexnow911.com.

if you can find a good one word .us then it's worth it, but a simple small investment is nothing to worry about, i have 3 .us's a one word, a three char. and a popluar two word term....

The .US market has been really thriving lately. Lots of decent re-sold buys (four-figure range), that indicate the market for the .US extension will in mature nicely in the future.

I, however, will only buy dot coms. Unless it's a $4.95 .US domain, unless all extensions are taken, and I'm preparing for some majori SEO/Development on that markets name.
