    CIHOST.com - too good to be true?

    They offer a dedicated server for 99$ per month (Well, if you pre-pay for a year. 119$ per months if you pay quaterly) with the following:

    Single Intel Celeron 2.4 GHz
    512 MB DDR2100 RAM
    80 GB ULTRA ATA/133
    100 MBps Intel Ethernet Adapter
    8 IP Addresses (Unlimited domains with name-based hosting)
    3000 GB Transfer Per Month

    CIHOST dedicated unix hosting

    Is that cheap or what? If you have 10MBIT dedicated and you use 100% of it for a full month that's 3000GB

                                      Hello... I'd just like to throw in my .2 cents about CIHOST.

                                      I had a server with them over a year ago and canceled because I could host a more stable server at my house on residential dsl.

                                      1 year later they send a collections agency after to pay another year's fee's. This is AFTER I had cancelled my contract.

                                      I argued with them on the phone for well over an hour about this. They refused to back down and I'm now forced to pay over 500 dollars for something I never had.

                                      I could go into detail but I think everyone already knows to stay away from this company.

                                          What do you mean you are forced to pay 500$?

                                          Don't pay, that's all. Do you seriously think they are going to take you to court for 500$ dollars. And if they are stupid enough to do it, they will lose.

                                                  I sued CIHost in small claims court several years ago to break the contract and I won.
