I don't get it why people compared this video to the beheading video .. the beheading video was a politcally motivated murder by terrorists with the background of a war ..

I can call off the cat lovers. I wasn't going to tell anyone this, but yesterday I spent a good part of my day visiting cat lovers here in my hometown. Some of them are rich white women that spend thousands on their kitties. I explained to them what had happened in the video and it brought them to tears. Then I told them how the clip was titled. The result is exactly what I expected. I was actually organizing a meeting to discuss what to do next. But this will change all of that.
I'm sure the old ladies will still be pissed, but I also know I can show them your freedom of speech to post such things. It's not wrong to post them, it's just wrong to mock them and laugh at them.

Regardless of how you feel about the video or not and how you feel about the title or not for CJ to make a "public" apology is admirable considering the reaction it has received here.
Should they have done it? Maybe and maybe not. Only the CJ owners and their legal team know. Perhaps there is more at work than a few pissed off webmasters and old ladies. Perhaps some "agency" got involved and it was either write the letter or face some nasty ramifications.
Rick's a shrewd biz man and wouldn't have written that letter had there not been a demand for it and that's the markings of a successful man. Give to your customers what is demanded.Comment
