I know it's sad to lose a loved one... but if he was living his life the way he wanted then he died a happy man.Originally posted by DonovanPhillips
He had his kids and grand children that he loved very much and got a lot of pleasure out of having them in his life. There was a lot of sadness, but a lot of happiness too.
We all have our own lives to live as we see fit, even though it may not be the way others want us to live it. You cannot blame the drug for this passing, if you blame anyone.. blame the person using the drug.. that was their choice. If there was a problem where he wanted to quit the drugs and could not then yes, blame the drug.
My Aunt recently passed at 54-55 years of age. he had a problem (started with speed then advanced to alcohol and crack) but that was her choice... she was commited to institutions (against her will) to get clean... but of course, if you have no desire to quit... nothing will make you. She lived her life they way she wanted and died doing it...
i know it is hard to lose a loved one... but some things are out of our control.Comment

Donovan,
I just found out a few hours ago that my cousin died two days ago of an overdose, she was only 35 years old. I didn't really know her so I'm not too upset about it but it just goes to show that it is happening more and more every day. I'm glad I never got in to anything other then smoking some weed now and then.

Seems a little strange
Pretty fucked up timing on that one, eh? But I'm sure that post was self-evident:
1. It was meant to be funny.
2. It referred to Mary Jane. I've never heard of anyone dying from MJ.
But again, it was a joke. And it was posted the night BEFORE I found out about my uncle.
That whole thread was inspired by Karma coming home with some MJ. Karma (TeenKarma.com) recently moved in with us. She had been visiting family earlier in the day. She's a very high-strung girl, so when she came home mellow I knew she must have found some MJ. I started making jokes about "employees of mine" and MJ and then decided to take the joke to GFY.
Although I was only referring to marijuana, the next morning when I found out about my uncle I felt bad about that thread.
Today I'm feeling much better. Arrangements have been made, his kids have been able to let out their initial round of emotions, and the memories of him are all being talked about. That always helps.
Thanks to all of you that posted your condolences. I appreciate it.Comment

i will tell you what, i like drugs myself, and I have no problem doing them or being public that I do them...but meth fucking sucks as a drug, it is a horrible awful thing that needs to go away...
sorry to hear that someone you know has died from the use of it, that is so sad
meth is the #1 most addictive drug ever, it has even surpassed heroin, alcohol and cigarettes
only 6% that do meth ever are able to recover from using it and fully kick the habit...
it is scary shit that has taken over some of my friends lives and I worry for them all the timeComment
