Florida was great last year and I will miss it this year. We have too much going on in mainstream and adult, and our offline businesses, and the most important reason is family committments.
We will be in Vegas though!

thats funny, I have been in this biz 5 years 3 full time, support an ever growing family on one income and have never attended a show, oh and I also just started up some paysites and an affiliate program so I guess your theory on that is way off base. I have a shit load of contact and have met only a couple of them face to face but do big $ deals with them everyday. People who think going ot the shows is required just crack me up. I totally agree with you. I've been going to adult conventions for 5 years or so. All of my best business deals have come from the smaller shows. When I go to the bigger shows, I end up partying the whole time and sleeping late. I'm not saying you won't get any deals done there, but in general, I think one will get more done at the smaller more personal shows. My favorite show was CyberNet in New Orleans. I disagree. With a show that size....Most people are too busy running from place to place...Private party to private party...And the average show newbie is way too intimitated to get in the middle of a bunch of people and a situation like that. They will end up sitting around all day.
A smaller show still brings out some key players and they are more apt to take the time to get to know and help you.
If you are a newbie...I would not even think of attending this show UNLESS you already have an in with somebody who can hold your hand a hook you up.
And the weather in Florida in August is like a dirty armpit.

I limit myself to one Internext per year. The January show.
Not because I get a ton of biz done there, but because it's in the middle of a cold Montreal winter, and the break is welcome.
Small to mid-size shows is where most lower level business gets done nowadays.
Higher end biz? Email, ICQ, telephone.

Its not like that at all. Its just about sitting around and having some drinks and getting to know people. Everyone there does the same things you do.. Just a bit differently.
You HAVE to go to the shows if you want to maximize your potential. Its great to get to know people and nobody is trying to OWN anyone. I talk to the millionares in one breath and the guy that rode his horse to the show the next. I dont care cuz I may need either of them for help someday or may work a deal with anyone of them down the road.
The shows helped me and my company (silvercash) grow immensly over the years.
