Chicago 911 Emergency Center is in the dark!

If you are in Chicago, the 911 center is offline due to a power outage, oddly enough President Bush was, and might still be in town.

Your guess is as good as mine if this is related.

The West Side facility switched to backup power, but telephone calls to 911 were not getting through.

Anyone with an emergency to report to police or fire officials was urged to call the city's "311" public service line instead.

Bush is still in town, and the Chicago 911 center is getting back online with portable generators.

Of course, what are you doing online if you are trying to get an ambulance?
