    is it legal?

    I'm not good at US law but isn't it unlegal to install activeX/adware software on visitors computers ?
    If it's unlegal, are there any countries in which it is legal ?

                      it is illegal if you don't tell the user you are doing it

                      if there is a prompt i think it still falls into the legal category

                      you just can't do it without permission
