Ppl here always tell this. When theres a bday, they (Hollanders aka from the west = south and north holland the provinces) put a plate on the table with EXACTLY 5 cookies when there are 5 ppl. If there are more you cannot take more, theyll take the plate and put it away. That doesnt happen here in the south. But yes, splitting costs is common here for some. I think it sucks to take a girl out and have her pay half, but many do.
