Here in LA, you can run an ad for girls to answer phones and do calls.
In fact, I know of companies paying girls to answer the phone simply to get more talent, they say girls make the other girls more comfortable about showing up than if its some chub with a camera and a LA Weekly ad.
but, as for "sales rep" girls and all that,...

1) Your ability to articulate yourself: Books are readily available.
2) Your basis of sales / marketing strategies on drama / calling out threads. This is just sad, but maintains a distinct legacy around here for new sale's people.
3) Your class. Although a liberal industry which I have certainly taken advantage of to a degree, it still beholds real people doing real jobs making real money.
The above three have nothing to do with your formal education.

Back in my early 20's I once worked for a guy who had a grade 4 education. He was in his late 40's at the time, an ex-boxer, and was the manager of one of the largest and most successful nightclubs in the city. The man was loved by all of his staff and commanded a great deal of respect among his peers.
Years later I became a health care worker and at one point in my career worked under a hospital coordinator who was one of the most miserable bitches I've ever known. Highly educated, yet quite retarded in the ways of effective interpersonal relation.
Conclusion: Edumuhcation is highly overrated, and is not nor should it be the end-all-be-all of most job requirements. Although important, I find that more often than not a person with some good life experience under their belt and some common sense in their head is the better candidate when choosing someone to work with.Promote Wildmatch, ImLive, Sexier.com, and more!!

I agree that book smarts do not neccessarily indicate the other talents of people smarts or even common sense. Of course, a balanced combination of all three would be ideal.
