    married home owner's

So here is my question, is your home in both your name or just your name?
My Ex-husband SKULL-BUITRE ran off to Colombia with OUR money and screwed me after I helped him build OUR business.
He is hiding in Colombia and never paid the settlement $ from our divorce!

It depends when you buy the house... before marraige, or after, also, different states have different rules. In Wisconsin there is no such thing as a one party financial arrangement. If you are married, you are both responsible, regardless if both or only one of you signed a document.

However, even if you buy your house before marraige, stay married long enough and should you divorce, you can plan on giving 1/2 its value to your spouse.

In Maryland if you own a home and get married its still yours
In WV when you get married the spouse owns half of everything you have

Personally our main home is in both of our names
Rentals are in a corporation name
Partying since '96 and not going anywhere Anna's Dorm

In NY what you buy/own etc before you are married is yours; whether it's a house, car, stocks, bonds, whatever. What you purchase or come to own after you are married, automatically belongs to your spouse as well. If you own a home before you are married but want your spouse to own it as well, you can have their name put on the deed or refinance jointly.

I've been married for almost 7 years. Marrie dhim young, emotionally supported him while he was in the military, cook, clean, do all errands, and help him webmastering. Now after almost 7 years he is taking me off everything and says I don't deserve half of anything! Sold our home here and bought in another state in only his name!
