I think that's bullshit.
Country has evolved just like every other type of music.
That's like saying it's not really rock because it doesn't sound like ACDC or it's not really top40/pop because it doesn't sound like Duran Duran or it's not really rap because it doesn't sound like Kool Moe Dee.
It's country, and that's just the way it is.
