if I understand this correctly, Memorial Day in the US, is a day to remember soldiers who have fallen in war. then why do Americans seem to use this day to hang out and have fun, like it's a happy holiday?
in Israel for example, the memorial day is surely the saddest day of the year (followed by Independance Day, which in my opinion is the happiest one).
