What a motherfucker of a day...
It's bad enough that it's 110 degrees out here today...
I'm having a creative funk kind of day, so decide to mow the lawn and see if that'll help...I come inside realizing why I don't work in the heat
I go to switch on the AC extra high and suddenly the whole house goes dark...I figured "oh fuck, I blew a fuse"...so I check the fuse box and all looks ok
I wasn't sure what was going on. I went next door to my neighbor's house and his power is up, so it's not an outage in the area....I come back to my house (the nanny was off to run some personal errand) and of course my 2 year old son is hot and the baby is going nuts...so, I go to call the power company and realize that the cordless phoen base needs power to work...luckily, my wife left her cell (I've never bothered getting a new one since I smashed the last one I had) and I was able to get ahold of them and after dealing with 4 different people, finally found out they had me down for a voluntary disconnect (same as if I was moving). After a lot of swearing and yelling, I finally got someone to admit they were mistaken, but they said they would have the power back up in the morning (it was about 5). I explained that I had a baby and 3 kids (my other kids had returned home from school by then).
Apparently saying "cocksucker" to the cocksucker on the phone doesn't urge them to be in a hurry.
So, I'm enjoying hanging out at a buddy's house and working from there this evening....
what an interesting month this has been for sure....
