I am no expert in domains but many .eu domains that already have tons of pre-registrations are still available in .in

That has got to say something about demand. Demand for .in 5 or 10 years from now might be much higher than .eu though.

I have some .in domains and I hope they do well but I am going to be banking more on the .eu extention.
