Change that to not suppose to have slavery. So if you want to leave, there is normally a way out. So much depends on what's in that contract, which is not here to read. It becomes a matter of $ if you or they breach the contract. Normally the maximum amount of $ involved is the value of the contract in a breach. Can they stop you from working somewhere else via court order? Don?t know for sure, but think that would be hard. Can they sue you? Of course. Is this a small industry where reputation is important? Yes. Like Steve said, the ownership of the name Mandy is another matter to consider in costs and potential damages of litigation.
It would appear that the post would hurt both sides. While the drama is always nice to read, does it serve anyone?s real interests? Prolly not.
Like I said, not an attorney, but I bet his/her advice would be to stop talking on the boards.

since no one really knows what the contract or agreement was.. this is all just talk and speculation.. if it was really a legal issue.. the lawyers would make sure all parties involved remained silent on the issue... otherwise their lawyers are not very bright....
but in the real world if you sign a work contract.. yes it can be broken depending on the states laws... but one should attempt to withhold the spirt of such contract if they agreed to the terms set forth... if an NBA player signs to play for a team for 4 yrs for the league minimum.. then gets offered millions to go somewhere else.. they are bound to their original contract unless a trade is negotiated.. so yes.. work contracts can and do get enforced.
