Many adult (all) website designers are premadonna, emotionally unstable, design-school rejects who can't comprehend functional design - so they rip off those very few peers who understand that. It doesn't help the cause that people who hire "designers" ask "I want my website to look like that website" either.
I'm not a designer, nor have I been forever on the web, but after seven years, I've seen few designs that have caught my attention as being innovative, alluring and functional and have met even fewer designers that were a pleasure to work with who could do anything near the designs worthy of at least minimum wage.
My dog shits out more inspirational designs than many of the carbon copy website designs out there, these days.
