Hey, we all make mistakes, typo's etc. (myself definitely included!) Here's a reference guide for those of you who [may] need it.

I'll add a few that are currently on my mind...everyone should add some too! Let's all love and be helpful here, m'kay? PEACE!

"Should of" = Should HAVE or Should've!
"Genious" = Genius!
"Dumm"/"Dumn"... = DUMB!
"Grammer" = Grammar!

It just pangs me to hear someone yelling at people:

"Ain't we the genious man U so dumm! U should of stayed in grammer scool"

That one is mostly acceptable on message boards. After all, this isn't an English composition test. The other ones you mentioned are just plain wrong though, no matter where you use them.

The one that really shows the intelligence level of someone is your vs. you're. I always smile when I see someone trying to come off like they know something and they still haven't figured that one out yet.

U has two sounds: Up Cup - (A gutteral u(gh)
and
university union. Here, the sound is (Y)ou (nion)

H creates the same problems

I don't think anyone has mentioned its/it's yet.

It's is a contraction for "it is"
eg: It's going to rain today.

Its shows possession, as in his, hers, its, mine, yours
eg: Its fur was all wet.

One that no one here has caught yet. Only use an apostrophe to show possesion or to make a contraction between two words. To pluarlize a word, just tack the "s" on the end.

Example: typos (plural)
the dog's tail (possesive)
can't (contraction)
the dogs' tails (plural possesive)

Or, for those of us who are living in the southern states:

y'all (singular, although accepted as plural)
all y'all (plural)
all y'all's (plural possesive)

Not that "y'all" is also a contraction, hence the apostrophe. (Contracted form of "you all")

You'uns is also used in the place of "all y'all."

However, as with just about every rule in the English language, there are times when the " 's " is not used to show possesion.

Example: hers and his and yours and mine (yeesh)

The "should of" one always kills me. Mostly because it's the exact same number of keystrokes as "should've".

I'm not big on punctuation though and make lots of mistakes anyway.
