Do most people speak English in Montreal or only French? I've seen alot of Montreal porn chicks that don't seem to be able to speak English.

I Think like 10% Can't (Hard Headed Ppl+Uneducated). 45% Are Fluent in English (Immigrants+Canadians+Hardworking French Canadians), but like 45% of them are O.K. (Mostly French Canadians who learned English in French schools).Comment

Montreal on the overall is pretty good in either languages.
I speak French and my girlfriend doesn't. We where there once and the worst problem wasn't people who didn't speak the language but people who flat out refused to speak English because they where either stuck up, senile or some hard core separatist asshole. To them, I flatly told them "mange de la marde"

I speak both so I have no problems, but I get annoyed when these idiots get all high n mighty with their "quebecois" attitudes and refuse to speak english when the person they are talking to clearly doesnt. Doesnt happen much, but still.

my family has been here for 200 hundred years, in english, no problems,
I almost never speak french,
times I speak french,
1. cab drivers who dont understand english,
2. clarify orders at mcdonals,
3. with nice french people, french friends and strippers,
times I only speak english and I insist on it,
1. with doctors, lawyers, accountant, bank people,
2. phone tech support, anything dealing with my money,
3. sales people, cars, furniture, computers, so on,
notably, my acountant, lawyer, and many of the sales people I buy high end stuff from, are typically, jewish, and therefor, english, and they are the best in montreal,
so if you are french I recommend a jewish english lawyer and accountant,Comment
