Star Wars 3 safe to take a 3 1/2 year old to see?

You think it would be safe to take a 3 1/2 year old to see the new star wars movie or is it too scary? I don't have a problem with showing him the other two movies since they are pretty tame but I heard this one is kind of graphic. Either way I am going to see it today, I just wanted to know the opinion of a random sample of pornographers who include things like gagging girls until they puke, fisting and nipple clamps in their daily routine.

    Please share.

    its pg-13 isnt it?

I really HATE parents like you who drag their toddlers to movies they should NOT be in. Sure, FUCK IT UP for everyone else trying to enjoy the movie but cant cuz your fucking kid is whining and crying and cant sit still.

I've only ever taken him to see kids movies before, and didn't realize it was PG-13. So, no is the answer.

PS the average 3 1/2 year old ins't a crying screaming mess so chill out.

            ** SPOILER ALERT **
Don't read further if you don't want to know what happens

Beheadings, many limbs chopped off, people shot at close range by allies, young jedi killed, Anakin catching on fire and burning to a crisp, Anakin lying on a table in full view fried and missing limbs, Anakin being surgically put back together, Painful childbirth, cheesy dialogue..

I wouldn't take any kid under 10.. my 11 year old thought a few scenes were a little intense.

i never thought it Lucas would end to such story, but still it would not stop be from heading for tomorrow's show. not really intended for 3 1/2 yr kids

Well before anybody thinks I am this horrible fucking parent that will sit on my cell phone the whole movie while my little kid drinks Coke, and eats candy the whole time let me tell you how I based my question:

                      1. Most of the Star Wars toys are for kids 3 & up
                      2. The other two movies were pretty tame
                      3. I didn't know it was rated PG-13
                      4. I went to see Star Wars when I was that young & have always kind of looked forward to taking my son...

Anyway, I consider myself very aware of my surroundings when my kids are around and I will be the first one to leave if I feel we are annoying anyone.

I would be more worried about the length of the movie (almost 2 1/2 hours) than the content for a 3 1/2 year old

As for kids in theaters, I'd much rather take my kids to movies than sit behind a bunch of yapping fucking teenagers...my oldest son went to all three of the Lord Of The Rings movies with me and was fine sitting through 3 hour movies. My youngest son and oldest daughter can't sit through a 2 1/2 hour movie, so generally stay home and catch them on DVD.

I can't remember though when the last time I was at the movies with my kids and had problems with them screaming and hollering...but I can count on both hands the number of times a loudmouth teeniebopper has ruined my moviegoing experience...

Hey Rex.. this is the PERFECT excuse for you to go see it TWICE!

Go check it out for yourself first, THEN, based on YOUR knowledge of your son and what he can handle, you'll be in the BEST position to make the right choice for you and your family.

My family and I (hubby and 15 year old) went to the midnight showing at our local movie theatre and there were TONS of kids under 10 there, I'd say the youngest was probably 5, and I didn't hear any screaming, crying or notice any children looking particularly disturbed at the end.

But different kids can handle different things.

That's how I'd do it anyways, then you get to watch the movie at least twice in the movie theatre for a VERY good reason!

                              True dat.
I make it a point to see only R rated movies on a weekday when I go to the movies.
The teenagers fucking ruin the shit for everyone otherwise.

Although I don't think you should bring a toddler to a movie, wait until they're 5 or so, and then take them to a kids movie.

You know they made a lot of hype about the new SW3 being too graphic. It has a few moments but nothing your kid won't see on TV. Take your kids to see it.
