But the literal is so boring -- especially at 3:50AM.


I really like metaphor -- it gives layers to our meanings and exposes our experiences to multiple interpretations.

For some, metaphor is a language through which they give embodiment to things that don't embody easily.

For others, metaphor is a language through which they understand things that don't embody easily, by finding those things concealed in other things that do.

I have the misfortune of belonging to both categories. As such, I suffer and enjoy the presence of metaphor in pretty much all I see.


I do concede, though, that sometimes a blender is just a blender and a fan is just a fan...
