Conservatives please tell me one thing

how does it go togeher being anti-liberal, voting for a party that main thing is "christian values" and peddling porn?
    I just don't get it!

And btw. your liberal party over there would be considered pretty conservative over here

it just doesnt make any sense.

just like being a christian and a pronographer is BS. christians are supposed to attempt to emulate jesus. can you see jesus bulding and submitting galleries or working hard to increase the prod on his CJ?... or working to get a high google rank on the search term "anal gangbang"?

Conservatives are supposed to believe in less government, little or no taxes and more freedom. It's hard to argue against that.

Keep in mind that not all conservative voters are Christians. While many of the hardline conservatives are Christians there are many of us that are not.

I believe in many things the conservative party believes in, and there are things that I like about the liberals. I just think that the conservatives on many things and many life experiences that I have had are a better party, not to mention right now John Kerry scares the shit out of me.

When it comes to crime, taxes etc I am republican, obviously with porn I am liberal. I think I would really consider myself more of a libertarian more than anything, but with the mainstream being liberal / conservative I vote conservative. To me there is much more to voting then just porn, like military, crime, taxes etc. Being a vet I saw what Clinton did to the armed forces while I served, so I don't care for the Liberal ideas for the military.

Yeah, it is, but the political party in the USA that is known as conservative is doing the exact opposite of that, or that's what it looks like from here...

once you liberals understand that voting is not a single issue event, you'll have learned something.

Todays "conservatives" want more government regulation to impose stringent "values" (if you can call it that) on everyone else.

Repressive or Oppressive are more applicable labels.

Dude, America has been on top of the spending list on military for ages, not even with Clinton did you guys spend less then the 10 next ones on the list combined. Can you imagine what could be done with that money?

This whole Army stuff is rubbish, I mean if USA would only spend half of what they spend on the army they would still top the list by far!

I think the people at the far end of either spectrum are scary, as some of the posts in this thread illustrate.

In a two party system, thats a small amount of parties for lots of different groups of people to fit in. So can't really generalize to much.

                                Can I produce one? lol.

They want to amend the constitution to ban same sex marriages at the federal level. Thats a state's rights issue.

Bush himself opposes stem cell research based on what he calls "moral and ethical reasons".

What more would anyone need to know? One is Opressive, the other Repressive.

Well, I am not American, just looking at this as an outsider, and to me there are many issues I would deffinately be very unhappy with if I was living there, like the economy, if Bush was a COE somewhere he would of gotten the sack a long time ago

lol the only things they know about John Kerry are the things drudge and fox tell them. He did two tours in nam decorated war hero and while the other one was partying in AL . Like the country has been so much greater with W and the funny thing is these idiots back w most of them will be going off to iraq when they begin the draft in the summer of 2005. Makes no sense lol.

No, I'm afraid he might lose a war, not be able to save a falling economy, or pretend that when people don't vote for him the election was rigged.

Look at Germany and Japan, the two other big economies after USA, the spend a fraction on military compared with USA and I don't know of many countries that are about to invade them...

Bush started a war where there was no war, ruined an economy when he inherited a surplus, and was appointed president by a judge who stopped the recount before it was over.

And jobs? Dont forget people that in the united states, they stop counting you as "unemployed" when your government unemployment benefits run out. That is to say that if a million people have used up all their benefits yet NOT found work, and 750,000 more go ON benefits at the same time period, they'll classify that as a DROP in unemployment.

Remember that the next time you hear someone try to say that theres a turn around because unemployment has dropped.

hahaha, that is hilarious! So those people do not have work, but yet somehow they are miracuously not unemployed

Here is Spain it's the other way round, when you hear unemployment has risen it just meens more people are working "black"

Look at Germany and Japan, the two other big economies after USA, the spend a fraction on military compared with USA and I don't know of many countries that are about to invade them...
There are several issues to consider:

                                                    1. They know that if they are invaded by a military, the USA will retaliate. The Americans maintain a sizable military presence in both countries.

                                                    2. Nuclear weapons act as a deterrent against invasions.

                                                    3. I don't know of any countries that can afford to invade Germany and Japan.

Actually conservatives becoming the party of Jesus is a very new thing. They needed to do that to get more of the middle class.

That would make sense, wouldnt it? lmao. But typically when there's news reporting on unemployment rates, it's based only on the number of people actually receiving benefits.
More of a predictor than a fact.

Job growth is a tough one too.. How many new jobs are entry level minimum wage with no benefits and high turnover?
And how many lost jobs were long-term high cost employees? Who knows.

Always pretty damn tough to tell the real deal.

                                                            3. Can you then think of any countries that can afford to invade USA? If not then why not spend say just 30% less on the army?

That's why they've been inventing enemies for the past 60 years. Their government has and will continue to screw the people more and more, but there's nothing they can do about it anymore. The people have been sold out to banks and corporations a long time ago. That's also why they like their people being fat, lazy, and stupid.
