Relationships: To break up or not break up?

I'm considering ending a relationship with the first girl I ever loved. We both just don't seem happy anymore and I remember being happier while single. Part of me feels being single will be a relief but another part of me can't seem to let go of her.

Here are my options so far
    ----------------------------------

    - take a 2 week or so break and see how we feel after. Or maybe the idea of taking a break and "if you dont call me in 2 weeks it's officially over etc."

    - clean quick breakup

How long have you guys been together? If you ask to take a break you risk ending your relationship so really think it over before you go ahead with whatever you decide.

Dude, in all seriousness...asking for lovelife advice from a bunch of strangers behind anonymous screennames on a message board seems a little strange.

Well if you're growing apart after just 7 months, maybe better to end it.

ey smutgiant, man you still got those crabs from being a prostitutes client? hehe jk jk

man I've thought about this so many times. I've been in this relationship with my current gf for 2 and a half years. we recently decided to become 'just friends' but we are still going out. we both decided to not see other people or have sex with anyone else. we still talk to each other and all that but we just dont consider ourselves to be going out atm. i dunno man its some fucked up shit.

                girls is crazy!

                Often times I wonder why

if it's not working after such a short time probably better to end it

Definetly. It's tempting to hold on, and scary to let go. Hoping to make my decision within the next day or two. Unless she makes it first lol.

in general i would say, dont break a serious relationship with the first problem coming around the corner. Many couples get some problems especially in their sex life. So what? Just try to make it more interesting and everything is fine again.

If there are problems that you are BOTH willing to fix, have a go at fixing them. If not, make a quick clean break.

actually reasons are recurring problems since around the second month. Definetly NOT a first time fight.

You will have the same problems with other girl after some time, you cannot avoid that. Every relationship is great in the beginning and then you have to fight more and more problems. But it can be still nice, depends on both parts. The problem is monogamy - the worst invention of mankind. Its so unnatural, damn, most people are so stupid.

Sometimes is good to take a break, then you can think about te other person, without the other person next to you.. sometimes it causes a definitive break.. sometimes people realize than they love each other.. just try..

The break can often be a smooth break up. So unless you want to break up I'd concider trying to do the opposite. Try to see her more and do more stuff together. Or take a break together.

either your together or not, "breaks" are precisely how shit hits the fan.
