Not necessarily about making friends, but you'll create long-term relationships with clients if you become friends; and there's more to it than that.
chadglni mentioned someone getting a quote for a service, and then that form of traffic was mentioned in Gene / $5 Submissions blog? That's wrong.
$5 Submissions does know customer support and how to avoid being criticized in the public eye.
