"Traffic Idea -- Do ideas gain value when hidden or when shared?
This is an interesting question that comes up from time to time. Do ideas gain value when kept secret or when shared? Just Traffic is an "open source" idea blog for traffic and traffic news. It appears that a few webmasters would want us to stop discussing ways of traffic generation. The exchange is as follows:

[QUOTE=Myst]i seriously cannot understand you guys
why do you continuously spread the word on things that you make money on
do you WANT everyone to do what you do? do you want more competition? do you enjoy having your paycheck cut and given to other people you gave your secret to?
I see this happening with spamming, chatbots, yahoo groups, blogs
shut the #### up already please

Myst,
There are 2 schools of thought when it comes to ideas. One line of thinking assumes that ideas only have value if it is kept secret. Another line of thinking proceeds on the premise that information and ideas EXPLODE in value when shared. Based on my experiences, the latter is true.
There is no one source of traffic generation that hasn't expanded in value because people learn from the implementations of others. If you know what you are doing--you will learn from and profit from others' attempts at solving the same problem set YOU face. To take your example, blogs... Blog traffic is now in its third or fourth generation. Just look at how people implement it. Do you think it would reach such an advanced (and profitable for some) stage if the IDEA of blogs weren't disseminated? A plants the seed in B's mind, B creates implementation, C is inspired by B's attempt, D perfects C's effort, A applies it to A's problem and makes money... and so do others. This is how I've seen it work.
That's the idea behind
http://justtraffic.blogspot.com it is a traffic news and idea clearinghouse. If you read it carefully and understand its first principles, you'd know that there are tons of other sources for traffic than the traffic sources discussed on this or other boards. People can only keep implementations secret for so long until people learn and improve on their efforts.

Now why don't you tell everyone the real reason you "share" your moneymaking ideas with the crowd.....BECAUSE YOU FUCKING SELL SERVICES DEALING WITH THE SOURCES YOU PROVIDE.
You are an idiot if you think anyone is going to believe the drivel you or one of your monkeys posted. Every traffic source I have ever had that I kept to myself IMMEDIATELY lost value the second someone else knew wtf it was. This has been both from me telling them or just another person stumbling upon it. In fact, I would go so far as to say you are one of the main contributors to various "spammy" traffic sources on the web catching hell over the last year. You singlehandedly recruit a bunch of retarded motherfuckers into a section of the web, tell them they'll make money doing X, then charge them to do X for them.
And while I'm on the subject, why don't you also mention how you "borrow" ideas from people who contact you to have work done. Get a quote on some work nobody's exploiting yet and magically you have a blog post and whole fucking crew ready to offer the same service a month later.
Do us a fucking favor, next time you decide to fuck over the freethinking webmasters that have made money for years without your "help" by saturating what they do to the point of worthessness, don't pat yourself on the back and say to our faces that you are doing us a favor. We don't need your fucking help to make money, we already are. The only people you cater to are the morons that were too stupid to find the traffic sources themselves. But hey, at least you make $5 out of the deal.
