    The unspoken truth about the sig whoring business.

    So, I spoke to this guy the other day (on ICQ). I won't go into details here, let's just name him John.

    John has been a sigwhore for almost 3 years and people will recognize him from various nicknames he is using. John post activly at 7 adult message boards and averages 350 posts per day (this is what he told me).

    Ok, so far, nothing special. Now buckle up!!

    John's business is growing by $2,50 US every day, not that much you may think, but let's do the numbers on this, shall we?

    A year has about 360 days, so if John's business is growing by as little as $2,50 US per day, he will pack in an amazing $900 every day by the end of the first year.

    However my little ICQ friend has been doing this for almost 3 years now. He now turns over more than $2500 ($3000 on a good day) per day.

    He never had a website, he never bought any traffic, he doesn't even know what html is.


    John is what you may call a fulltime sigwhore.

      i don't believe any sig whore makes more than a hundred dollars a day. period. they just aren't worth enough for anyone to pay them that much for a mere 350 post/day (from the info you gave). i don't think 3500 posts/day are worth 100 bucks. the bottom line is return. someone might give you a good deal for one month, but if they aren't seeing anything from it, it's over.

      you can only run from messageboard to messageboard for so long.

          50 post per day per board not bad, but does not seem realistic. On some of the smaller boards all you would see is his postings

                          I don't think people paid for sigs 3 years ago

                          However it would be in theory possible the man is making the money off referrals alone. After 3 years i bet they would start to stack up, although i highly doubt most sponsors actually pay them for long. Fuckers usually say "that account got term'd and stuff like that"

                              3 different programs paying for webmaster referals, 2 pay 10%, 1 he got to 20%.

                              I've seen his stats, he does not sig whore flyby shit, just those 3 programs.

                                          3 years of nothing but webmaster referrals? Highly possible. I made 52k in around a year and a half from 2 active affiliates. Still pushing $400 a week or so from 1 guy. If I did nothing but recruit affiliates I would go into it planning on making thousands per day down the road.

                                          Think about what he said. $2.50 per day. $25 signup x 10% = $2.50. If he adds just 1 sale in his downline per day he is right on track.

                                              Yea, it sounds possible. The right programs, the right boards and good posts would do it.

                                              Not some of the crap that some turn out, but good legitimate posts on well traveled boards..... If he can make a living at it, I say more power to him. He's found a way to do something so few have...

                                                                                                                                                      People only say it's bullshit because they think it's so "easy" and they should be making that money too if it were that easy, well to all of you, that way of thinking is in itself bullshit because nearly everything looks easy to everyone if they're watching someone who is an expert at it.                                                                                                                                                                                   1) Quality sites (the old program wouldn't be around without them)
                                                                                                                                                                                  2) Reliable payouts (in most cases)

                                                                                                                                                                                  3) Good webmaster support and resources, like ARS has...

                                                                                                                                                                                  4) Some assurance that the company will still exist on payday.

The majority don't, but there are always exceptions to the rule. Some people just have a way of drawing people in.
