Alright, I agree with you in that case I'm always working in the background and I don't listen to anything...so it works for me to just turn sound off .

I just don't feel all the name calling and bashing of Allie over a banner is called for.

Let me just make this QUITE clear, my intent is not to bust ANYONE's balls about their marketing tactics, I have pulled some pretty crazy things over the years myself..... and if this banner makes them money, then MORE POWER TO THEM!!!! My place isn't to bust any balls at all...... I was just stating what happened to ME with it......

99.9% of the time, my volume is on mute and I don't listen to anything when I am working either....... and I don't think it would have bothered me at ALL even had I been expecting it....

So please don't think I am jumping on the bandwagon of the haters here, I am NOT...... I was merely speaking about my own experience with this banner........ if they want to have it there then this is purely their right to do so.... plain and simple. I just know to expect it and will be more careful and turn my sounds back down after listening to something else is all.

I just wanted to clear this up because I have a feeling that some are thinking I am on this bandwagon and I am certainly NOT!!!

You know, with all of the people downloading tools for their browsers to specifically cut flash out of their browsing experience on GFY perhaps it will trigger something in the adult.com offices about either moderating the banners or stopping flash ones from being accepted..

Finally, some solid words that can hopefully turn into actions. I thought I was the only one extremely pissed off about this and the Dark Cavern banner. I enjoy signing up with niche sponsors for their unique content, but don't piss of the webmasters that are going to make you serious $ by using awful marketing tactics!

"Browsing GFY" isn't a dedicated activity, I don't have a timeslot like from 3:00 to 3:15 I am going to be browsing GFY... A window is always open on one of my monitors in the corner somewhere and I refresh it periodically when working on other stuff.

I also like to listen to music while working, pretty much all the time.

Thankfully, this isn't an issue, because I just used the firefox flash plugin to disable it

I agree with most ppl here. Ice and I were listening to a CD and my Mother called.... I handed the phone (cell on speaker) to him and he was chatting with his future Mother-in-Law and when he got up from the desk and pushed his mouse away that thing started blasting and Ice started running in the opposite direction while I yanked the cord to his pc. It was too late, my Mother asked what the hell was going on.

While 'surfing with the sound off' might solve the problem, that is hardly the point of this thread. GFY and Naughty bank are businesses. GFY is paying the BW bill for all our posts and Naughty Bank is paying GFY to float their banners. I assume they are not doing this for the hell of it. They are doing this to MAKE MONEY.

That said, I find it astonishing that both could be so callous towards this issue. Silence talks, and their silence is basically saying 'GO FUCK YOURSELVES'. Although I run my own pay sites, I do occasionally promote single girl sites that fit into my niche and I send them a lot of traffic. I was SERIOUSLY thinking of promoting Allie's site but I have decided that I am going to wait untill they start treating their perspective affiliates with more respect.
